Rev Fr John Quinn
This is Fr John Quinn a Mill Hill Missionary Priest born 1901 died 1983 and the grandson of John Quinn and Sarah Morrisroe from Roscommon
In the archive of the Mill Hill Missionary London there is a file on Fr John Quinn with letters to and from Fr John Quinn. Here is something from that: John Quinn was born on 2nd March 1901 in Stockport. He studied in Freshfield, Roosendaal and Mill Hill London. He was ordained a priest in Mill Hill London on the 20th July 1924. After his ordination he was appointed to the Apostolic Vicariate of Jessel" ton in British North Borneo (now Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia), where Fr John worked until he was forced to leave the country because of the political unrest in the country. He retired to Herbert House, Freshfield, but remained active in undertaking supply work. He died in Freshfield on 2nd Sept. 1983. In the book "Khabar Gembira" (1981) by John Rooney you will find references to him on pp. 169-185.
